ARC

RUN-TIME: 90 MINUTES

Explore power, beauty, and raw emotion with Eisenhower Dance Detroit in this mainstage program.

Artistic Director, Stephanie Pizzo’s, thought-provoking ARC, created in collaboration with Detroit-based projection artist Adam Ludwig and lighting designer David Goodman-Edberg, delves into the repressive nature of labels within our society, how they affect our sense of identity and what it means to overcome the judgments that challenge us from revealing who we really are. Pizzo’s Surge, recently performed at Jacob’s Pillow and set to an original composition by internationally-known techno artist, Aaron Siegel, rounds out this dynamic program. Along with these collaborative works, ARC can be accompanied by a selection of other repertory pieces that similarly explore the pursuit of prevailing influence.

I/YOU/WE/ARE

I/YOU/WE/ARE outreach programming accompanies EDD’s production of ARC.

“I loved getting to talk to and meet most of the dancers! Every class was different and fun. It was cool taking class with a few of the company members and being able to see what rehearsals look like in a professional company.”
