HELP US CLOSE THE GAP!

Thanks to your generosity, we successfully fundraised $7,735 on Giving Tuesday, but we still need your help to reach our goal.

Please help EDD close the gap in our fiscal year 24/25 budget. We need to raise $15,000 this Giving Tuesday so we can continue to offer the outstanding programming you've come to know and expect from us including:

  • EDD Youth Ensemble's annual production of "The Nutcracker"

  • Choreographer, Yoshito Sakuraba's, residency with the EDD professional company in March, 2025

  • The EDD Youth Ensemble's production of "The Giving Tree"

  • See and Be Seen for college-bound dancers and their families

  • Artistic Director, Stephanie Pizzo's, collaboration with orchestral composer, Madeline Merwin

  • Mental health resources for young dancers

  • Opportunities for youth and adults to engage with the art of dance

Each year, it gets more expensive to produce the exceptional quality programming that you are accustomed to with Eisenhower Dance Detroit. Yet, we strive to make ticket prices affordable and fees reasonable so as many people as possible can participate in the art of dance. After more than 30 years of state funding support, EDD was left out of the funding pool this year, along with many outstanding arts organizations. Please help us make up the difference!

  1. Purchase an item from our teachers’ Amazon wishlist!
    Our teachers work hard to provide quality dance instruction for our students at the School of Eisenhower Dance Detroit. Whiteboards, tumbling mats, resistance bands, spot markers, and more, are all on our teachers’ wishlist. These items will enhance lesson plans, help our teachers with classroom management, and enable our students to explore and understand movement concepts in different ways.

  2. Join our clean hands campaign: cold and flu season are here! Purchase an item from our “Stay healthy!” Amazon wishlist to help keep our studios germ-free!

How does being a non-profit organization impact the work EDD does?

We are a MISSION-DRIVEN rather than PROFIT-DRIVEN organization. Our mission is to develop the art of contemporary dance and use our art to engage the community. At the School of EDD, the mission is honed even further to use dance as a tool to empower youth to go out into the world and make a positive impact.

A substantial portion of our operating budget relies on the generosity of donors, foundations, grants, and corporate sponsorships.

We have a COMMITMENT to our community...audiences, students, supporters, fellow artists...to be good stewards of the financial resources entrusted to us, be good citizens in our community, and be good ambassadors for the art of contemporary dance.
