SEE & BE SEEN: COLLEGIATE DANCE AUDITION & TABLE TALK
On October 9, 2022, 38 students auditioned for and learned about ten different college dance programs throughout Michigan at Eisenhower Dance Detroit’s studios. This FREE event was open to high school juniors and seniors in the community and featured a table talk portion where representatives from college dance programs got to discuss participants’ questions.

A DANCER’S MENTAL HEALTH: A VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL DANCE TABLE TALK
Held virtually via Zoom on November 7, 2021, this table talk featured a panel of mental health experts including Wendy Essenburg, P.h.D.; Todd Nadeau, MA, LLP; and Lisa Johns, who has spent the past 5 years working for both Crisis Text Line and The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

EDUCATEDD: A HIGH SCHOOL DANCE TABLE TALK ON COLLEGE AND DANCE CAREERS
EDD hosted its first High School Dance Table Talk on September 29th, 2019 from 1-3pm at the School of EDD’s Lab Theatre in Rochester. The purpose of this event was to provide a conversational forum for high school dancers and their parents to learn about:
“What college dance programs are available in Michigan”
“What life looks like as a college dance major or minor”
“What dance and dance-related careers are available”
“What life looks like as a working dance professional”
Thirteen panelists represented Michigan colleges and universities with dance major/minor programs along with EDD Artistic Director, Stephanie Pizzo, and Jon Teeuwissen, former executive director for the Joffrey Ballet. Sixty-five guests attended the in-person event.
