PROTIP # 16

BEING A PLANT BASED DANCER

As a dancer it is very important to have a healthy diet throughout your career and there are many ways to eat heartily and stay healthy.

It is important to know what you’re putting into your body and the effect it will have on it in the future. Being a professional dancer who has transitioned from a full blown carnivore diet growing up, to a pescatarian diet through college and after and now completely vegan for over a year, it has opened my mind to endless possibilities. Not only has it forced to experiment with different ingredients but it has changed my performance as an athlete. As a result from this change in my diet things taste better, I have more energy after, I feel less weighed down from all the unnecessary animal products that have been the leading cause of heart attacks, strokes and more.

There are many easy to make vegan recipes that can satisfy those cheesy, sweet or savory flavors that we all crave so much. Every person has different preferences on flavors and what has worked for one person may not work for another.

Below are a few recipes that I used as blueprints and modified to my liking that I thought were worth sharing.

You are what you eat. Why not experiment with ways to get the same/similar flavors you crave with healthier ingredients? Stay safe and be healthy!
