During his residency with Eisenhower Dance Detroit in March 2025, we spoke with Yoshito Sakuraba about the story behind "Ongaeshi: The Debt of Feathers," his new creation for EDD featuring a paper cutout animated film by College for Creative Studies students.

This powerful, narrative work premieres on April 9+10 at the Detroit Institute of Arts as part of our 35th season finale, BEYOND.
