Explore familiar stories through a new lens with Eisenhower Dance Detroit and Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings. Featuring original contemporary dance and live music, these art forms combine with the story and illustrations to create a unique experience fun for the whole family. After each performance, audience members will be invited to get hands-on with the instruments in a special Musical Petting Zoo from McCourt Music and/or meet the dancers in a short participatory exercise. 

These programs developed in partnership with ArtOps, Oakland County Community College and Detroit Institute of Arts.

Could the innate definition of truth and justice lie solely in the eye of the beholder?  Join EDD Artistic Director, Stephanie Pizzo, and the acclaimed EDD dancers as they investigate perspective...how it shapes judgment and impacts culture and society.  This two-part, site-specific work, at two uniquely different venues, Oakland University’s Varner Recital Hall and the Light Box in Detroit, reimagines what we think of as performance space.  Watch contemporary dance transform both environments to create two unique perspectives with a common theme. Join in the artistic process for an interactive experience that will impact the perspective of Part 2 at the Light Box.  The program also features the mesmerizing premieres of dances created by renowned choreographers, Christian Denice and Baira.

Get your groove on as you explore the Motown Mansion made famous by Berry Gordy courtesy of present homeowner, Alan Brown!  The fun-loving and engaging EDD dancers take the audience on a musical road trip through the mansion with traveling dance vignettes featuring the energy and soul, gospel and grit, that made the Motor City famous.  Follow that unmistakable Motown sound as it leads you from room to room!

Celebrate as Eisenhower Dance Detroit opens it’s 29th Metro Series Season with Back2Back|Bach2Beatles. In collaboration with Detroit electro-pop violin band, Nuclassica, this exhilarating double bill will feature EDD Artistic Director, Stephanie Pizzo’s, The Lovely Exchange, set to Bach’s Partita for Violin Solo No. 1 in B Minor and the premiere of her new work set to the timeless music of the Beatles with live musical accompaniment. 

Jordan Allen Broder, an accomplished violinist and saxophonist, has quickly established a reputation for his support and promotion of the arts. Completing a formal education in music performance, production and artist management, Mr. Broder has worked with a diverse roster of classical, jazz and contemporary talent that includes the International Chamber Soloists, rock-sensation Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Jazz at Lincoln Center and prize-winners of “Miss Michigan” and “Miss America.”

Providing Oakland County and its surrounding cities with two of the best performing arts organizations in town.
